The Rhône Valley wine region in the South of France runs for over 200km along the length of the Rhône river, from Lyon in the North to Avignon in the South. The Northern Rhône predominantly grows Syrah and Viognier and is home to the famous Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage regions where the steeper hillsides and the mistral wind mean it’s noticeably cooler than the South. The South is home to the world renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape and additionally grows Grenache and Mourvedre.
